What you eat can affect your hormone balance. Foods such as pistachios, sour cherries, and grapes contain the sleep hormone melatonin and can improve sleep quality. A small portion in the evening can help you fall asleep faster. Bananas, milk, eggs, and legumes, on the other hand, contain the amino acid tryptophan, which the body needs to produce melatonin.
